Dr. Anvar Saidenov is a seasoned economist and central banking leader with over 25 years of experience in public financial institutions, investment management, and regulatory strategy. He served as the Governor of the National Bank of Kazakhstan from 2004 to 2009, guiding the country’s monetary policy through major financial reforms and the global financial crisis.
Prior to that, he held senior leadership roles, including Vice Minister of Finance, Chairman of Halyk Savings Bank, and Deputy Chairman of the National Bank. His early career included international experience at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), where he focused on financial stability and investment development in the region.
Following his governorship, Dr. Saidenov served as Chairman of BTA Bank and has held numerous board-level positions at prominent financial institutions, including Alfa-Bank Kazakhstan, Bank CenterCredit, and the Development Bank of Kazakhstan. He is recognized for his strategic insight, crisis management expertise, and commitment to strong governance in both public and private sectors.

Yergali has led several financial institutions as Chairman and Independent Director, including Insurance Company Amanat and London-Almaty, and is a recognized expert in implementing KAIZEN-based operational excellence.
